-
Freemasonry means different things to each of those who join.
-
For some, it's about making new friends and learning about the history and mysteries of Freemasonry.
-
For others it's about being able to help deserving causes -- making a contribution to family and to society.
-
For some, it is an enjoyable and worthwhile hobby.
-
Freemasonry is one of the world's oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable, non-profit making organisations.
-
It teaches self-knowledge and confidence through participation in a progression of ceremonies.
-
Members are expected to be of high moral standing and are encouraged to speak openly about Freemasonry.

-
There is usually a rehearsal at 8pm on the Wednesday before the Lodge meeting on the following Monday.
-
After the business meeting in the Lodge Room, we circulate via the bar to one of Tapton's Dining Rooms where we are served with a three course meal and tea or coffee. Toasts and conversation are enjoyed at this our 'Festive Board'.
-
Our Ladies enjoy a similar social meal in another Dining Room at the same time as the members of our Lodge. They are a vital part of Freemasonry and raise money for a Charity of their choice and support the work of the Masons.
What Do Freemasons Do?
-
Freemasons at Concordia enjoy each others company, having a laugh and a good meal and raising money for Charity
-
As a Freemason we can visit other Lodges all over the country and indeed the world, making new friends as we go. It's interesting to see how each Lodge varies its own ritual and customs.
-
Our responsibility is first to our families and the laws of the land in which we live. We DO NOT crave political power or to run the country, or the world, as some creative writers would have you believe!
-
We are NOT a religious organisation and there is NO Masonic god. Every Mason professes to believe in his personal god enabling Masons to meet in peace and harmony.
-
We offer support to those in difficulty through ill-health, bereavement, financial and family hardship.
-
We strive to be good men who are learning to be even better.
